Expert colloquium in Bonn on abuse of power and security threats

Khrystyna Shabat, head of the Center for the Dignity of the Child at UCU, took part in the international expert colloquium on June 6-7 on the topic "Abuse of power in the hierarchy and religious life" in Bonn (Germany).

The meeting was organized by the Seminary of Moral Theology of the University of Bonn.

About 20 European experts working in the field of child rights protection, as well as those who deal with the protection of minors and vulnerable persons in the church environment, took part.

The participants focused on the analysis of the current legislation in the field of child protection, the dynamics of the increase in the level of violence and the necessary prospects for timely and effective response. The results of joint efforts based on the results of the colloquium will be presented to the participants of the World Synod.
