Ivanka Rudakevych, head of projects and programs at UCU's Center for the Dignity of the Child, took part in the conference with a presentation entitled “Views on Preventive Work in Unstable Conditions.”

On October 8, the III Digital Conference of the International Network to Support the Prevention of Sexual Violence in the Catholic Church was held. The event is organized by IPA - Institute for Prevention and Response to Sexual Violence. The IPA is an independent affiliated institute of the University of Bonn that promotes the protection of children, adolescents, youth and vulnerable adults from sexual abuse in institutions. The institute also cooperates with the Catholic Church on violence prevention.

Ivanka Rudakevych spoke about the work of the Center for the Dignity of the Child to prevent violence against children in education, medicine, and the church. She also spoke about the particularly important role of violence prevention in wartime. After all, during hostilities, crimes against humanity are committed, the level of domestic violence increases, and children are left without parental care or become orphans.

The conference featured presentations by international experts sharing research findings, including the European Commission's efforts to combat child sexual abuse. There were also two workshops on a broader approach to the concept of violence in Germany and what perspective it gives, and on how protection concepts work in church communities.

We are grateful for the opportunity to disseminate useful practices of preventing violence against children in the international expert community.
