Managers and teachers of out-of-school education institutions in Odesa learned to counter violence

The topic of children's safety became a leading issue among the current issues of education development during the forum "Out-of-school education of the region: experience, challenges, prospects" on September 19, 2024. Organizers of the event are KZVO "Odesa Academy of Continuing Education of the Odesa Regional Council" and the Odesa branch of the International Association of Extracurricular Education (IAPE).

The head of projects and programs of the Center for the Dignity of the Child at UCU, Valentina Havryshko, told the participants of the forum about the importance of preventing violence against children, about educational opportunities from the Center for Dignity, about a course on combating violence for the educational environment and a methodical guide that teaches children how to define their own boundaries and defend them in an ecological way, how to identify danger, what constitutes violence, how to protect ourselves from its threats, and adults how to create a safe space for our children, how to protect them from violence and how to be trusted adults.

More than 150 managers and teachers of out-of-school education institutions, scientists, consultants of centers for professional development of pedagogical workers, representatives of the community became participants in the event.
