The Child Dignity Center of UCU organized a meeting for delegates responsible for safeguarding in the dioceses and representatives of diocesan teams for the protection of minors of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
On December 10, representatives from dioceses and monastic communities gathered to deepen their knowledge on child safety. The training began with a practical lecture on 'Responding to cases of abuse in the church environment' by Fr. Sava Masnyk.
Participants discussed a case of abuse within the church community and coordinated all necessary actions for handling such cases and important response points.

During the meeting, topics such as 'The concept of abuse of power in the context of abuse against minors and vulnerable adults' and 'Spiritual abuse. Definition. Regulation by Canon Law and Pastoral Care' were discussed. Participants analyzed texts that explore these issues, exchanged experiences, and shared good practices. Ivanka Rudakevych, Head of Projects and Programs at the Child Dignity Center of UCU, prepared the training program and moderated the meeting.
This training helps deepen the knowledge of delegates who handle reports and representatives of diocesan teams for the protection of minors and vulnerable individuals. We are grateful to the participants for their cooperation and service.
