Safeguarding Training for St. Josaphat Buchach Lyceum
On June 4, the Child Dignity Center conducted safeguarding training for the staff of St. Josaphat Buchach Lyceum, focusing on the protection of minors from violence.
Ivanka Rudakevych, Head of Projects and Programs at the Child Dignity Center of UCU, spoke about the different types of violence and their impact on a child’s future life. She discussed the role of safe adults and the importance of their positive presence, how to recognize signs of harm, and how to provide effective support. She also highlighted why it is important to prevent cases of violence and how to respond effectively when abuse has already occurred.
Hieromonk and psychologist Sava Masnyk shared the Church’s experience in preventing sexual abuse of children, outlined key safety rules that should be applied, and discussed principles of pastoral work with safeguarding in mind.
We are grateful for this collaboration, working together for the benefit of children.
