"Recognition and Counteraction of Violence Among Youth"
Schoolchildren and students in the Lviv region learned to recognize violence and respond correctly to its signs from an expert of the Child Dignity Center of UCU.
On November 30, the Faculty of Health Sciences at UCU and students of the "Social Work" program held the "S.E.N.S." forum (relationships, emotions, norms, awareness). Ivanka Rudakevych, the Project Manager at the Child Dignity Center of UCU, participated in the event.
The project aimed to enhance sexual education for schoolchildren and students aged 14-18 in the Lviv region. Teenagers learned about safe sexual behavior, effective communication, and making responsible decisions in the areas of sexuality and relationships.
Ivanka Rudakevych talked about what violence is, how to recognize and combat it among youth, and how to create a safe space free from oppression and harm. She explained how to properly respond to signs of abuse and where to seek help. She also discussed the dangers of sexting and sharing intimate images, and the rules to follow to protect one’s privacy online.
It is important for teenagers to know how to protect their dignity and prevent harm from occurring.
