Cooperation with educators of Mykolaiv
Child Dignity Center at UCU started cooperation with Mykolaiv educators within the framework of the project "Safeguarding. Child safety in the educational environment" aimed at creating a safe environment for children in educational institutions: measures to prevent violence, mechanisms for recognition and effective response.
On August 22 and 30, Valentyna Havryshko, head of projects and programs of the UCU Child Dignity Center, held lectures on violence prevention at meetings of deputy directors of schools and Methodist teachers of preschool education institutions, as well as with psychologists of educational institutions from the Center for Professional Development of Pedagogical Workers of the Mykolaiv City Council.
In the conditions of war, the level of violence has increased, and we, as adults, must be even more attentive to its possible manifestations, take care of children's safety, and be the adults they trust.
Educators and psychologists will take an online course from the Center for Child Dignity of UCU "Safeguarding. Child safety in the educational environment", which teaches how to create a safe environment for children, what safety rules should be introduced and followed, how to respond to threats.
They will also use the methodological manual "Instructions for the safety of children at school", which contains materials for classes with children from 4 to 18 years old, aimed at preventing violence. Four classes on how a child can define his own boundaries and defend them in an ecological way, how to behave when faced with violence, rules that will help protect against threats of violence, about the ability to say "no" to what he doesn't like.
We believe that cooperation will be useful for the safety of the children of Mykolaiv.
