“Child dignity as an intrinsic value” (SCHOOL FOR CLERGY AND LAYPEOPLE, LEVEL I)

What is this opportunity about?

This Level 1 School covers the essential topics anyone working with children should know. In particular, the training is aimed at the Church environment and covers the following topics:

• the child’s place in the Church
• the situation regarding sexual violence in Ukraine, the experience of the Church on this topic
• concepts of violence against minors and vulnerable persons, signs of different types of violence
• the reality of the victim, the consequences of experiencing violence
• potential offenders and how to identify them
• actions to take after detecting sexual violence against minors or vulnerable persons (how to listen and act)
• current violence prevention mechanisms in the Church, security policy document (introduction)

Another bonus of this school is the opportunity to work with real cases and apply the acquired knowledge.

The school is designed for:

Clergy, consecrated persons, lay people, animators, administrative staff of parishes, (arch)dioceses, exarchates of the UGCC, leaders and members of communities, and organisations working with children on a fee-for-service and volunteer bases.

Terms of participation: free of charge. The school is organised once or twice a year or upon request.
