У Зарваниці відбулося масштабне навчання для духовенства Тернопільсько-Зборівської архиєпархії УГКЦ. Понад 300 священників долучилися до семінару, присвяченого захисту неповнолітніх та вразливих осіб від Центру гідності дитини УКУ.

Курс «SAFEGUARDING. Безпека в середовищі церкви» Центру гідності дитини УКУ представили для душпастирів, які служать для українців у діаспорі. Онлайн-презентація відбулася у співпраці з Пасторально-міграційним відділом Патріаршої Курії УГКЦ.

Центр гідності дитини УКУ налагоджує співпрацю з іншими конфесіями, окрім УГКЦ. Керівниця напряму «Церква» Іванка Рудакевич прочитала лекцію щодо побудови безпечного середовища для дітей для семінаристів у Київській православній богословській академії ПЦУ.

To mark the fifth anniversary of the UCU Center for Child Dignity, a panel discussion titled “Child Safety: Adults’ Daily Actions” was held. Participants discussed why violence is passed down from generation to generation, the underlying causes of bullying in schools, and how to build trusting relationships with children so that they feel safe.

The Ukrainian Catholic University hosted a workshop titled “Child-Friendly Church” organized by the Center for Child Dignity. Its goal was to help parish teams assess their work with children and evaluate how safe and child-friendly the church environment is, as well as to develop project ideas.

The team at the UCU Center for Child Dignity has prepared an interview offering practical advice on how to implement the “SPEAK UP” program in schools, organizations, and communities. Using Lviv as an example, where the project is already operating successfully, experts explain where to start the implementation, how to make it comfortable for children and staff, and what helps turn child safety into a systematic practice.

On February 20, a presentation of the project “Safeguarding. Child Safety in the Church Environment.” This was made possible through the collaboration between the UCU Center for Child Dignity and the “Human Dignity Strategy” initiative of Sapientia College of Theology, both of which work in the field of violence prevention within the Catholic communities of their respective countries. Hungary became the seventh country to join the project.

On January 21, the Child Dignity Center of the Ukrainian Catholic University celebrated its 5th anniversary. On this occasion, a gathering was held with partners and colleagues. Under one roof, we managed to bring together over fifty of our friends: representatives from the church, education, civil society, and medical sectors, as well as government institutions.

Prague has become another point on the map of the Center’s international project: on January 21, the exhibition “Recognize. Respond” was opened here, and the Czech version of the online course “Safeguarding: Child Safety in the Church Environment” was presented. Thus, the Czech Republic became the sixth country to join the initiative, following Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Germany, and Slovenia.

The Child Dignity Center of UCU is launching the “SPEAK UP” educational program for communities, schools, and civil society across Ukraine. After a successful pilot in the Lviv community, the team is making the program publicly available so that any institution working with children can implement a modern and effective system for their protection.

The team of the UCU Child Dignity Center, within the framework of the “SPEAK UP” project, announced a marathon for high school students. Its goal was to create short videos on the topics of safety, personal boundaries, and bullying, and to share them on social media. On December 8, the authors of the best videos were awarded, and the results of the marathon were summarized.

The presentation of the project “Safeguarding: Child Safety in Church Environments” took place in Ljubljana on November 18, on the World Day for the Prevention and Healing of Sexual Exploitation, Violence, and Abuse Against Children. The project’s reach is expanding — after Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, and Germany, Slovenia became the fifth country where the UCU Child Dignity Center team presented it.
