A City Safe for Children: A Project for Creating a Child-Friendly Environment is Being Implemented in Lviv

The 'City for the Child' project aims to create a safe environment and prevent potential risks of abuse against children. It is being implemented by the Child's Dignity Center of the Ukrainian Catholic University in collaboration with various departments of the Lviv City Council. Students of the Ukrainian Catholic University will also be involved in the project.

The Center for Child Dignity at UCU participated in a conference on child protection within the Catholic Church in Rome.

From November 13 to 15, a conference titled “Safeguarding in the Catholic Church in Europe” took place in Rome. Representatives from 25 European countries gathered to share best practices aimed at preventing abuse of minors and vulnerable individuals.

At an international congress in Croatia, they heard about a study supported by the UCU Child Dignity Center

On October 23-25, the 35th International FICE World Congress was held in Split, Croatia. Anastasia Shyroka, associate professor of psychology and psychotherapy at the Faculty of Health Sciences UCU, made a presentation at the congress. Security policies for public organizations: UCU Child Dignity Center holds third certificate program

On October 25-27, 20 civil society organizations from Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia, Rivne, Ternopil, Zakarpattia, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Poltava received training from the Center for Child Dignity of the Ukrainian Catholic University to help them develop child protection policies and procedures in their institutions.

Three days of intensive training, immersion in the topic of preventing violence against children, identifying possible risks and finding the best solutions to protect children, how to create a violence-free space in a public organization or charity. And as a result of the training, they wrote their own safety policy.
