Manual "Child Safety Trainings" for church representatives (EN VERSION)

"Child Safety Trainings" is a collection of interactive activities for children aged 4-18 aimed at preventing various types of violence against minors.

They explain how children can become more aware of their own bodies, their boundaries, and the people around them, speak up when they don't like the way they are treated, and with this knowledge, minimize the risk of violence.

The briefings are the first collection of interactive lessons for children and adolescents aged 4-6, 7-10, 11-14, and 15-18 in the Ukrainian church environment, taking into account different stages of growing up, which explain in clear language how to prevent and counteract violence, how to talk about violence with minors, and how to create a safe space.

For each age category, there is a cycle of 4 classes, where children are taught about:

The classes are designed for two types of activities: for a small audience (up to 15 people) and a large audience (more than 15 people in a group). Each lesson includes practical tasks for children, when they discuss specific examples of violent behavior in the form of a conversation or discussion.

Taking into account the development and knowledge of each age group, the manual contains appendices with images, coloring pages, games for younger children and qr codes for viewing thematic materials with older children. Additionally, there are useful links to child safety documents, telephone numbers of response services and hotlines to contact if a child is abused.

The collection of safety trainings will be useful in the work of psychologists, educators, educators and teachers in church kindergartens and schools, catechists, clergy working with children, community leaders and lecturers working with minors in the church environment.
